Images
FolioStop will only support two types of image files, jpg and png.
The principal difference between the two types are that jpg does not support transparency, whereas png does.
The trade off is that png files are larger in filesize that jpg, so unless your image needs to have transparent areas, you should use jpg, because this will improve the speed of your website.
Most digital cameras save images as jpg, so if you have taken the image yourself then you should be good to go.
You may also have images gif or tiff format. In order to use these images in your FolioStop site you will need to convert them into either jpg or png format. Practically all image editors will allow you to save or export an image in one of these acceptable formats.

Videos
FolioStop is flash based and supports the most commonly used web video format, flash video or flv format.
In order to add video to your site it will need to be in flv format.
You may find that you have video in various other formats such as mov, mpeg, or avi. There are lots of third party programs that will allow you to convert these video formats into flv. Some free and some commercial programs; a quick Google search will bring up lots of options.
Using YouTube to convert your videos
One fairly painless way to convert your videos into flv format is to upload them to YouTube, and then download the video YouTube creates, since this process converts the video to flv format.
If you use Firefox (which we recommend), you can install an add-on called download helper. Once you have installed this add-on, you simply browse to the YouTube page showing your video and click the Download Helper icon on the left of your address bar (icon shown below: the 3 circles, yellow, blue, and red).

When you click the icon you will be prompted where you want to save the video. This video will be in flv format, so save it to your computer, and then you can drag it in to your FolioStop website.
